Song of the Day: Donald Lawrence feat. The Tri-City Singers - There Remaineth A Rest
God wants us to rest (or be confident) in the fact that He has done all the work for us. God’s “rest” describes our relationship w/ Him… Trusting, relying on Him and what He has already done, instead of relying on our own works and abilities. When we are resting, we are trusting in what God has done through Jesus Christ. We have everything we need within our born-again spirits. Our Christian walk should consist of entering into God’s rest instead of trying to work to make Him do something (Hebrews 4:8-11). Faith and trust are two different things. Faith breeds confidence, while trust breeds commitment. Faith is the beginning level of your Christian life, whereas trust is the highest level. Faith can fail (Luke 22:32); trust, like Mount Zion, can’t be removed and stands fast forever (Psalm 125:1). NOTHING (& NO THING) can move you when your trust is in God. Faith believes that God can do what He promises; trust says, “Even if God doesn’t do it, my position remains the same.” Trust is like a tree that’s been planted, it’s not going anywhere whether it’s raining, sunny, snowing. It’s committed and will bear fruit. Once you learn to trust #God, you must learn to rest in Him. God only fights once you take your rest. Your rest provokes divine intervention. Labor into rest!
